Turn-Key Installation Service Overview

Project Management:

One of the most important services offered by ScanOnline. We highly recommend that our customers let us manage the project to ensure success in implementing a complex wireless solution.

We have the expertise, and we know our product. Our staff can oversee every aspect of the project, including: initial site survey analysis, planning, assembly of resources, logistics, installation of hardware and wiring, and final test and commissioning.

Site Survey:

A Site Survey provides a complete facility analysis by a radio technician who evaluates the site to determine the necessary wireless network equipment, its placement, power considerations and wireless requirements. A completed site survey allows ScanOnline to guarantee 100% wireless coverage for your system, if ScanOnline performs the install.

ScanOnline also provides RFID Site Surveys. An RFID site survey is a physical survey of the location where the RFID will be installed. An RFID site survey shows the best locations for the RFID readers to be located, as well as the RFID tags on the products, whether they be wood, metal or liquids, so the RFID processes, where implemented, will work 100% of the time.

Wireless Backbone Installation:

Wireless Network Installation is the installation of physical wiring and equipment placement required to give you the wireless communications infrastructure needed to support your planned system use. ScanOnline also mounts and configures the access points and antennas as part of the backbone installation.

In most industrial and warehouse installations, we recommend NEMA-quality environmental enclosures. In a typical Access Point mounting configuration, each diversity antenna is held at maximum distance from the access point for optimum reception performance. Wireless networks in general, and WLANs in particular, need Wireless security. Many early access points could not tell if particular user had authorization to access the network. Although these issues have long troubled many types of wired networks, this did not usually pose a significant problem, since many organizations had reasonably good physical security. However, the fact that radio signals bleed outside of buildings and across property lines, makes physical security largely ineffective to those who may attempt to "hop" on to a network wirelessly. Such corporate issues are covered in wireless security.

Motorola MSP - Mobility Services Platform:

ScanOnline as an integrator of the Motorola Mobile Services Platform (MSP), empower your mobile business-critical technology to run at peak performance levels and maximize system availability. An alternative to the conventional time-consuming and expensive break/fix approach to IT support, our Motorola MSP Mobile Managed Services pro-actively prevent technical problems and network downtime from occurring.

Engineering:

ScanOnline custom-designs and builds all necessary enclosures, wiring closets, and electromechanical devices according to application needs. ScanOnline's Wiring Closets typically serve as hubs for Ethernet cables, fiber optic cables, and electrical power lines.

System Installation and Knowledge Transfer:

Commissioning Services assist you in bringing your system on line and incorporating mobile data collection into your operations. Also making sure your staff receives training to operate and maintain the network and software solutions installed by ScanOnline. This ensures proper establishment and testing of the host connectivity between mobile terminals and wireless communications infrastructure.
