The first time he called ScanOnline, Eric was looking for someone to repair some older hand-held scanning equipment.  “I contacted three different companies, and made the right decision by choosing ScanOnline,” Eric remembers.

Equipment reliability was FSI’s biggest issue at the time. With nine locations in five states, customer signature capture at delivery was slowing down operations, as well as showing signs of accuracy problems in the data transmission piece. Eric reports that with the new equipment reliability and improved data capture, they experienced a total return in investment in only six months – some seven to eight months sooner than his projections.

As their industry demands grew, ScanOnline has been with FSI every step of the way. When changing their entire in-house computer system, Eric contacted ScanOnline for the project. And when FSI was not able to go live with their new in-house computer system as planned, Eric recounts how ScanOnline came in and was able to “fill the gaps” and keep operations moving.

“We ended up with a short period of time to come up with a new way to communicate with our existing archaic computer equipment. At that moment, I became convinced that ScanOnline’s custom programs are the best piece of capabilities provided. Then Scott Hopkins came in and helped pick the right equipment for our needs within a very tight budget. Now we have a Delivery Tracking System upgrade that works with our old system, “ Eric continues.

ScanOnline was there to design all aspects of the project including the SQL Server database, synchronization to the mobile devices, and a web interface to report the results.

Eric anticipates moving forward in 2011 with ScanOnline as a partner in building on their proof of delivery piece for capturing package piece counts. He tells us his wish list consists of about ten similar projects to complete as they have funds, and appreciates ScanOnline’s flexibility, willingness, and availability to work with them this way.

“I keep calling ScanOnline for several reasons,” Eric tells us. “They are honest and tell you what they can do, and think beyond just the project parameters. I can deal with everyone from the owner, sales rep, to the programmer, whenever I need them. They really deliver.”
