Substantial, Measurable Results

When looking for a way to key-in and track over 2,000 serial numbers from receipt to shipping, Bill Penwell of Telerent Leasing Corporation was looking for a provider with the ability to come in and integrate a new scanning solution with their existing. “We kept running into vendors who wanted to put in a whole new system,” Bill recounts. “With older scanners on site and a warehouse distribution center already in place, at that point, we just wanted a scanner component, and ScanOnline was able to come in and adapt to our current system.”

However, 17,000 hospital room TV’s later, it became apparent the company would need a more robust end-solution. In the warehouse, with equipment stacked on pallets 6-7ft. high, wrapped in heavy plastic shipping material, Bill’s team now required the capability to scan 1,000s of serial numbers at a time, through the packaging, reaching from the bottom to the top. Also required was the ability to edit and re-scan on the spot when a UPC number was captured by mistake.

“I then asked ScanOnline to expedite the new scanner installation in advance of a critical product shipment. And they were responsive and engaged, with everything in place when we needed it,” Bill says.

“As a result, our customer response department can now more quickly respond to customer inquiries and better manage equipment warranties with the expansive data we now collect,” Bill concludes. “I look forward to working with ScanOnline for future projects.”
